In particular, tears are an expression of human emotion.

Tears tell many things that people cannot say. Whether it is extremely sad or extremely happy.

Tears have a special place in cinema, music and literature. In this, tears are made a symbol of pain. However, tears are not only a weakness, but also a strength.

Tears have amazing power. Have you ever seriously thought about why and how tears come? The scientific study of crying and tears is meaningful in itself.

Normally, 1.5 milliliters of tears are produced by the eye glands per day. The human body mainly produces two types of tears.

The first comes for any injury or needing fluids to the eye. Dr. Ophthalmologist, who tears in tears for any emotional reason in another sadness, happiness. Pratishka Amatya says.

It is emotional tears that flow when we cry, laugh, and sometimes when we are happy. It is a tear produced by the lacrimal gland.

She says, ‘Tears produced by the glands in the lid of the other eye are considered necessary for the eyes. Which protects the eyes from being dry.

In sadness, in happiness, in any emotional matter, tears flow from the eyes of people.

Similarly, when there is an injury to the eye, in the case of growing age and when cutting an onion, tears also flow from the eyes in reflex of anything.

Mainly pathological tears and emotional tears are two types of tears that flow from people’s eyes. Dr. Rajeev Jha says.

How and why are tears?

On the upper side of the eye there is a lacrimal gland. From which tears are formed and come. The ‘Meibomian’ gland is also a tear producing gland, which is located on the eyelids.

In addition, the ‘mucin’ layer also helps in the production of tears, says ophthalmologist Sanyam Bajimay.

Tears that flow when you are happy and when you are sad are produced by the lacrimal gland.

Similarly, Bajimay says that the ‘Meibomian’ glands in the eyelids produce tears to provide moisture to the eyes and to protect the eyes from dryness.

Tears are forming in our eyes even under normal conditions. “It goes from the small hole in the eye through the ‘lacrimal duct’ through the nose to the throat,” he says.

Tears come every time, even if they are small in every blink. Tears develop our ability to see Dr. Amatya says. Some part of tears is also produced by our nose.

Tears also come from our nose when we laugh a lot or in pain,” he says.

Tears come to protect our eyes. According to Bajimay, tears have immunity, which protects the eyes from various diseases.

“To keep the surface of the eye in a healthy state, the eye needs continuous tears,” he says, “Tears protect not only the eyes, but also the nose from various infections.”

When crying, the tears from the eyes reach the nose through the lacrimal ducts and the germs and dirt accumulated in the nose are removed.

What if the tears don’t come?

Rheumatism, diabetes and thyroid etc. are the problems of less tears. Some people also have the problem of not having tears.

If the tears do not come from the eyes, the pupil of the eye becomes dry and small wounds occur and the light of the eye decreases.

Later, the problem is that the wound becomes bigger and the eyes are not able to see.

Bajimaya says that with increasing age, the production of tears decreases and there is also the problem of dry eyes.

There is a hormone called ‘endorphin’ in our body. Hormones that are produced in the brain and act as messengers in the body.

After hearing anything emotional, it stays in the mind and immediately brings tears to the eyes. When a person is stressed or emotionally upset, this hormone is produced in excess.

And through tears Dr. Jha says. “If a person is under a lot of stress, after crying and shedding tears, he feels some relief, he is relieved of stress,” he says, “because he releases endorphin hormones through tears.”

After shedding emotional tears, a person is relieved of stress.
